The Explorer

- Has a deep connection to the sea and space. He adores the vastness and the endless possibilities of either.
Matt is a character I've used a lot over the years for various stories and roleplays! His exacts tend to change, but a common thing is that he tends to at least start out the most 'normal' sort of person in his environment- even if a little unstable or with an odd trait- to see how things change him. He's kind of an everyman! As a character I adore him a lot to both roleplay and draw, and I'm always excited to try writing him in new scenarios to see what unfolds.
One of his longest used versions is part of a World of Darkness cross-splat campaign in a small group. He's gone through a lot over half a decade- from being a simple curse hedge mage, going between two Malkavians as their ghoul, then having that severed and dragged into becoming a Void Engineer, and then eventually becoming a Vampire. It's been a wild ride for that version!
The reason this page is called The Explorer is because the Storyteller of that game named his Avatar that! His Avatar was a presented as a much older, experienced version of Matt wearing a nautical-themed spacesuit, I thought it'd be neat to refer to Matt as 'The Explorer' sometimes when referring to the character as a whole, outside of specific universes- especially as his name can changes in other ones. Though, it normally is something that can be shortened to just 'Matt'.
